Foggy Ruins – #MySundayPhoto
We love a good walk in Windsor Great Park. Brilliant opportunity for a #MySundayPhoto too. If you haven’t found me on Instagram yet, you can follow me here by the way…
M takes his bike, I push the buggy and often catch up with a friend as we walk.
(If we bump into someone with a remote control monster truck for M to leg it after, bonus.)
The Ruins by Virginia Water lake are beautiful on any day, but in this week’s fog with the sunlight streaming through the columns, they were stunning. Apparently these ruins from the ancient city of Leptis Magna were a gift to the Prince Regent (later George IV) from a Colonel who ‘persuaded’ him to accept them.
I love that choice of word on the information plaque.
Clearly the future King wasn’t particularly keen about having some massive stones – that would prove a logistical nightmare to receive – dumped in his back garden. But I reckon he’d have enjoyed looking at them today! What do you think?
